I need to resolve Names by configuring DNS Across forests on a same IP Range in dofferent vlans - Kindly Help.

I have Forest A, Domain A with Domain controller A1 and additional Domain controller A2 with (Exchange server). DNS is in Domain Controller A1

Similarly I have a Forest B, Domain B with Domain Controller B1 and an additional Domain controller B2 with (Exchange server). DNS is in Domain Controller B1

The Ip Addressing is  10.0.1.1 to 10.0.255.255 . It is a university campus

The Forest A and Forest B are on different vlans with no access of clients across vlans except for servers i.e. ISA, Exchange, DCs etc .

I want to configure my DNS on both sides to start resolving names. I also want to enable trust relationship across forests and across vlans.

Hi!

Create stub zone for domain B on domain controller A1, use B1 as master and create stub zone for domain A on domain controller B1, use A1 as master
You could use conditional forwaders or secondary zones also, but stub zones are preferred.

"Add a stub zone"
