Are you limited to downloading software for the device the Smatnet was purchased for?

If I purchase a Smartnet for a PIX 501 am I able to download software for the PIX 506e and a 1800 series router or can I only access PIX 501 software?  Also will I be able to download the newest VPN client software with a Smartnet for a PIX 501?

501 and 506E have the same software :)

Legally you are not supposed to, but once you have a valid cco and smarrtnet you can download the router software as well - however Im not sure you can still get a smartnet on a PIX 501 - though I may be wrong :)

Thanks for the answer.  I found smartnet for the PIX 501 for $102, I also saw a PIX 501 with a smartnet contract good until 2009 on ebay.

If its a second hand box get a free Cisco CCO login then send an email to ask them to associate the smartnet with you CCO login and you are good to go
