Setup Backup account permissions from ESM

Hi All,

Ignoring whether or not there are legal or moral issues attached to this question.

I have been asked to organize the adding of another user account that has access to all users mail boxes, i believe that this should be possible by adding the new user to the permissions of the mailbox.

NOTE: not using Delegates, the permissions must be able to be added from the servers and without the owner accounts password.

Please advise the best way to achieve this task.

You could use the "grantmailboxpermissions" script.

The easiest way would be to set this user as an "Exchange Administrator" on the Administrative group level, but you must be careful as you will grant him access to administer the exchange server.

Another way would be to use a script that passes all the users on a schedule and grants this user permission on all mailbox enabled objects the "Full Mailbox" rights.
