What Is The Port Number Used By SQL SERVER 2005?
Greetings Experts!
I have a question, it may sound very premitive, but I still consider my self all new to SQL SERVER. My question is, What is the port number used by SQL SERVER 2005 to connect and accept connections from client machines, say that the sql server 2005 is install on a server machine, and it is suppose to accept connections from clients.
Thanks in advance.

The default port for SQL is TCP 1433 in all versions.
You may check whether port 1433 is listening on server using netstat command prompt.
Run->cmd
C:\> netstat -an
Run->cmd
C:\> netstat -an
