Hello,

Imagine i was using the following tabular layout on my site (3 rows 3 columns with 9 cells):
=====================================
=        1            =          2          =          3          =
=====================================
=        4            =          5          =          6          =
=====================================
=        7            =          8          =          9          =
=====================================

How would i merge cells 2,3,4,5,8,9 into a single cell? (These will be occupied by text, while the remaining cells will be used to hold images).

Many thanks in advance

Hi Daniish,

You can't merge cells that don't create a rectangle.

Your option involving tables would be to create one giant cell (1-9) and then aligned/floated nested tables for 1, 6 and 7.

The best option, however, would be to use CSS:
<div> <!--your main cell -->
<img style="float:left" src="someimage.jpg" /> <!-- fake cell 1 -->
<p>Some text</p>
<p>Some more text</p>
<img style="float:right" src="someimage.jpg" /> <!-- fake cell 2 -->
<p>Some more text</p>
<p>Some more text</p>
<p>Some more text</p>
<img style="float:left" src="someimage.jpg" /> <!-- fake cell 3 -->
<p>Some more text</p>
<p>Some more text</p>
</div>

Thankyou for your feedback.

Would you mind also showing me how this can be accomplished using css?
(this would probably be easier to implement for my FCKeditor template)
