Will a Windows 95/98 client authenticate in a Server 2008 mixed mode domain?
I have an active directory domain running in 2000 native mode. I am in the process of upgrading to a Server 2008 domain.
I have added a new 2008 member server which I intend to DCPromo to join my Server 2000 DCs to give a mixed mode 2008 domain. After I do this, will my two legacy Win98 computers still be able to authenticate, and hence access shared drives on my file servers?
If they will not, does anyone have any suggestions (sensible only please) with what to do with them. The only thing I can think of is supplying a FTP client and transferring files via it instead of SMB.
