My Front end server's OS crashed. I want to reinstall exchange 2003 on new server. How do I remove old server from exchange org.?

My front end server crashed after I ran Virus Scan on it. It is not showing desktop and I suspect USERINIT.exe and Explorer.exe is corrupted. All my exchange server services are running perfectly except OWA.  I tried reinstalling corrupted file via recovery console but it didn't help. I am wondering If I can format the server and reinstall the exchange 2k3 on it again. If i format what how can I remove all the meta data about that server from active directory and other servers.

All the meta data is stored in Active Directory....so I would build this new server and give it the same name.   Reset the computer account in Active Directory.   Join it to the domain, and install Exchange in disaster recovery mode.  Here is a link that describes the whole process:
