We used to have Macs here and I know we shared printers with them. I am using a Windows 2000 pro SP4 system to share an HP laserjet 4050. I have gone to add remove programs / add remove windows components / other network file and print services. I see only print services for unix. I have gone to the poperties for the nic, select install services, expecting to see file and print services for macintosh, but it is just not there. I feel rather foolish having had many Macintosh computers on our network some years ago, but I have gone to the items I remember and they are not there. As always any help will be greatly apreciated

Apple's early computers ran on a variety of operating systems, including a Pascal version and one based on CP/M, before releasing its ProDOS with the advent of its 16-bit computer. With the release of the Lisa, which had its own OS, Apple and computing entered the graphical age; it was followed by the Macintosh, which offered a series of "System" operating systems. Other Mac operating systems included PowerPC until Apple acquired NeXT and folded it into the Mac OS. Current operating systems for Apple devices are Mac OS-X and iOS.

Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released (Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server) that shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console. All versions of the operating system support NTFS 3.0, Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage. The Windows 2000 Server family includes support for Active Directory services, Distributed File System and fault-redundant storage volumes.
