Can Crystal Report modified in PeopleSoft version be used in full fledged developer version
Hi,
I have a report which was originally developed using Seagate Crystal Report product version 8.5.0.217. I am doing modifications to this report by using Crystal Report (v 8.5.0.218) which comes bundled with Peoplesoft.
I am trying to understand what kind of compatibility issues I might face while trying to take this modified report back to env where I have Crystal Report product version 8.5.0.217 and not the one which comes with Peoplesoft.
Thanks

Well, the changes are nothing to do with PeopleSoft. It is a crystal report originally developed using Seagate Crystal Report product version 8.5.0.217. However this report is being modified at other location which do not have Seagate Crystal Report product version 8.5.0.217. This location uses Peoplesoft which has inbuilt Crystal Report package as we all know. Hence what has been done is that on a machine Crystal Report (v 8.5.0.218) which comes bundled with Peoplesoft has been installed and the report is being modified for some layout and data fetching logic. (Again to re-iterate the changes have nothing to do with PeopleSoft)
The concern is if this report is taken back to its original env, then would this report work or not . Would there be any compatibility issues. If yes what could be possible issues.
While doing the modifications there was a inital problem in terms of pdsora7.dll not found stuff. I think it was related to the the Database server it was looking at??
Thanks

I was referring to changes beyween CR 8.5.0.217 and .218. Those changes would be to run with PeopleSoft.
PeopleSoft may not install the oracle driver or it may be a different one.
I don't think there would be any changes to the Crystal or the report format.

So, it is ok to say that there would not be any compatibility issues as differences if any between CR 8.5.0.217 and .218 were actually targetted for only Peoplesoft guys.

Sorry, I am confused. So are we saying that the Crystal Report modified using Peoplesoft version 8.5.0.218 cannot be guranteed when opened in full fledged developer version 8.5.0.217
Thanks
Thanks
SInce only PeopleSoft and perhaps Crystal knows what was changed, there can be no guarantee.
