Hi all,
Can some one suggest me some good books on profiling. I did not get much information regarding profiling. spoke to few people, but still many did not have much knowledge on this topic. Nor i saw good number of books on this.
I work on C++/VC++, windows platform. So please suggest me some books/ links which provides me good info about profiling (memory/performance).

Thanks in advance.

I havent come across any good books on profiling either ... but then thats probably because there is ample material available otherwise.

Most of us would be interested in how to use a profiler to profile our applications. That is what profiler's user manuals deal with. If you browse through the documentation of gprof or callgrind/valgrind or any other profiler that you may be using, you would get ample details about everything you need to get done.
It helps to know of various profiling approaches so that we can choose our profiler wisely and this information is available in form of articles and reviews.

A very small fraction of developers who develop a profiler need to get into details of internal of profilers - this group is supported by some documentation, code, mailing lists etc. The audience here is too small to warrant a book.

If you want the latest on trends in profiling, various portals such as acm and ieee would have some papers on them.
