We need to send zip files to a client that have setup their spam filter so that all zip files are blocked. they instead accept .zed files.
We have winzip 11.2 and i have been trying to figure out how to use the right click option that allows you to zip the files and imports deirectly to an email.
Problem is even if i say xxx.zzed when the email comes up it is xxx.zed.zip
Is there any way to change the default .zip for the task?

Need this is a hurry so major points!

Hello there,

Not sure you can do this with this feature as it is ZIP to Email. The only thing that I can suggest is going into the folder options (open my computer, tools, Folder Options, Files Type Tab: Remove ZIP file and put ZED as the file extension)

If that doesn't work you can just add ZED to the file extension for Winzip and rename the file your self and then insert the file while the file name is already changed.

Hope this helps

I have not tired this but you may be able to do this with WinRAR. Might want to give that a shot.

Well winzip finally got back to me and this is their word from tech support.

I'm sorry, there is not; the default extension is .zip, and cannot be overridden via a configuration or registry change.

So I guess it can't be done....

Oh well..
