You might need to run installation files again then uninstall, the installation file might have been corrupted.

Also try manually uninstalling it by just deleting its folder/files. Lavasoft folder should be under Program Files.
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=28

Manually deleting its files/folder still leaves the remnant string in the Add/Remove, which is just a registry entry that you can delete.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
     CurrentVersion\Uninstall

click/highlight the "Uninstall" subkey and scroll down and look for its name and delete. The Ad-Aware uninstall string listed in Add/Remove can sometimes slightly vary from the ones in the registry.

Since you already run the Free uninstaller, could it be that it's just a dead entry in Add/Remove that is left with the program?
if so, then removing the string in the registry might be all that's needed.

Hi rpggamergirl

Tried every thing you've said. The entry in add/remove is still there with no remove button

>>>Tried every thing you've said. The entry in add/remove is still there with no remove button<<<

Are you saying that you've deleted the Ad-Aware related folder and files, and deleted the AD-Aware entry in the registry's "Uninstall" key and it is still showing in the add/remove programs?

Or, do you mean Ad-Aware files and folders are still intact?, check the "Uninstall" key again and edit the value of the relevant Ad-Aware program so the "Remove' button will show up as shown here.

I have removed the ad-aware entry from my register. I have attached screen shots of my register and add/remove  for your perusal. Maybe you'll find something that I have missed.

All I see in the screenshot is the registry 'Uninstall' key which are all CLSIDs and microsoft's KB's, no name of any programs listed?

Maybe one of those CLSIDs are still belonging to Ad-Aware.
If you click on each of those CLSIDs and look in the right pane, the 'Publisher', 'URLInfoAbout', or 'URLUpdateInfo' should tell you which is the remnant of Lavasoft or Ad-Aware.

Also try this add/remove programs cleaner, see if this helps.
