Blackberry Curve Sync Problems

Hi, I have just loaded the latest 4.3 Desktop Software on my new pc to sync my blackberry.

When I plug in the blackberry to the usb I get the following error message;

"Your computer must be connected to the Internet in order to initially configure synchronization settings. Please ensure that you are able to connect to the Internet and try again."

However I have a fulltime internet connection and no matter what I do I cannot figure out how to get the blackberry to see it.

<P>First thing check what is set for email option under IE7 Programs tab.  If that is correctly set to Outlook (making an assumption that is what you are using) and not set to something like Outlook Express, I believe your best bet would be to uninstall 4.3 and go to version 4.2 SP2 and see if that corrects the problem.  Blackberry a few times have come out with buggy versions and you have to wait for the next SP to come out for that version to get a less buggy version. Perfect example why version 4.2 has 2 service packs.</P><P> </P>

trying now... I see there is 4.5 out as well, might try that first. Back soon as I have tried.

Going back to previous version fixed the problem... although media manager doesn't ork, but that's not a major.

I had the same problem with 4.5. I disabled McAfee firewall and the desktop app was then able to access the internet and proceeded without errors.

Hi There i am using WIndows 7 with Blackberry DM 4.7 i still get the error , i am not using Black Berry Enterprise Email Account i am using BIS can any one help

Man this plagued me for a while. I finally found another post where the https authentication was failing for someone else in an entirely different piece of software. Long story short, I went to:

1. Control Panel

2. Internet Options

3. Advanced

4. Security

5. Uncheck "Check for server certificate revocation*"

6. Configure sync

This worked for me :D
