Do any metrics exist that will provide average bandwidth usage statistics for Exchange/Outlook connections over a WAN?

I'm looking for best practice metrics that will help an office scale its WAN links by calculating # of users X avg bw = minimum wan link. I understand that there are different methods of setting this up (cached mode vs. not), so information on any/all methods would be appreciated.

I know there are devices & software that could measure this after the fact, but we're planning to setup new offices and do not have the circuits in place to measure usage.  I'm hoping to use the metrics to correctly order WAN circuits that will not be over or under-utilized.

That's what I'm trying to establish - what is the best connectivity option by establishing some metrics.

i am asking what type of usage your user have, we can look for connectivity once we know access nature of users.
