Whenever I try to connect to the newest desktop (xp pro) on our network, an Acer Veriton M661-UQ6600P, the target computer (the acer) immediately restarts.  I updated the nic drivers to no avail.  I checked the event log and found this:

Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 ba338d70, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.

Can anyone please suggest the next steps?

That error code is most likely due to a hardware error in the RAM. Try to run a memtester and a chkdsk to make sure the harddrive is fine. Ive had this error before on several older machines and it was always the RAM.
