Do you mean the "Advanced Find" feature?

On the "Select Folder(s)" window you can only set folders from one of the root folders (e.g. the mailbox or a PST file).
Is this the case?

If I use this feature, the "Search In" option is active only if I am on one of the mailbox folders. If I select a folder from an archive, the option is grayed. I use Outlook 2003 SP3.

Is it different on your side?

same here.  revoved OFFICE 2003 and reinstalled it without SP3, that fixed the problem.

thanks
