Trying to set up the ability to get to sharepoint and OWA from externally for my users.  When I try to access the sharepoint site I get a redirect error.

The Current site is trying to open a site on your intranet, do you want to allow this.
Current Site: Internet address
Intranet Site: Intranet address

How do I get IIS or whatever is causing this to serve up the public address verses the private address?

I have a small buisness server where sharepoint sites has been created and published using a real IP
Users can access the sharepoint sites using the real ip https://'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx in the link bar.
The website opens normaly, but while trying to access the Document libraries, the web page redirects to the internal site http://sharepointsites ( which is not published).
Opening the document libraries in a new tab keeps us in the external zone and the link opens
How can i configure the sharepoint or the iis to keep the library browsing in the extranet zone ????
