"Error while getting sorted message table for duplicate message deletion on virtual machine xxxx The error number is 0x80004005" - Strange error....

I am getting the following error in my Exchange 2003 server:

"Error while getting sorted message table for duplicate message deletion on virtual machine xxx. The error number is 0x80004005."

Any ideas what is this mean?

On the other hand, the same error can appear if your default web site does not have a blank host header.

In this case you could do the following:
- open Internet Services Manager and open the properties of the default web site
- on the General tab check that a valid IP address is set
- click on the "Advanced: button and check that the "Host header value" is blank
