&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; I am pleased this situation is now resolved. &nbsp;While this pc did have some malware on it, the cause of AVG being disabled or turned off was related to an internet update on the software which did not fully complete. &nbsp;Once the pc was restarted and the live internet connection detected and completed an update for AVG, this anti-virus program was once again enabled and working fine.<br />

Hi Everyone;

        I wish to help a friend of mine with an anti-virus program concern surrounding AVG.  Basically, this utility can not be turned on.  Is there anyway of reconfiguring it so it can be turned back on?  Or, is there some service or program running in the background which is disabling it?  Or, perhaps some kind of malware?

        Any suggestions regarding this question will be appreciated.

AVG can not be turned on by user

Anti-virus software was originally developed to detect and remove computer viruses.
