Is there a program for Windows Mobile that can sw remap or associate actions on the screen to the hardware buttons of my bluetooth handset?

In practise I would associate the next/previous buttons to the forward/rewind buttons of my MP3 player software for better controlling the listening of audiobook while I'm walking...

no you cant unmap.

The designated buttons on your headset is mapped to those functions already. Your player however needs to have the profiles

A2DP and AVCRP.

A2DP allows the stereo sound to be sent to the headset and AVCRP allows the buttons to control your media player.

If you used windows media player and the buttons did not work then you dont have that profile. it can only be obtained from the manafacturer of your player.

My bluetooth headset has the buttons next and prev. and these buttons work with Windows Media Player.

However I use the program GSPlayer that have four buttons: next, prev., fast forward, fast rewind.
I would associate the hw button next to the sw button fast forward and the hw button prev. to the sw button fast rewind.

Is it possible?

Interesting link, Mikal613.

Why do you say that I would need to "create a Bluetooth profile" and that it's "impossible"?

Because noone in the community wrote one. Usually its widcomm or microsoft that creates these profiles and adds them to  there ROM (Mobile OS).
