Generics of any sort in java 1.3?

I'm developing for j2me and I seem to need to use java 1.3 compliant code.

Is there any way to use generics? For instance, I want to make a Point class, like:

    public class Point<T>
         protected T m_x;
         protected T m_y;
         public Point(T x, T y)
             m_x = x;
             m_y = y;

     Point<int> pt1(5, 10);
     Point<double> pt2(5.0, 10.0);

Well, I'm not sure if you can even do that with generics with the plain old int,double types anyway? But yeah is it possible to do something like that?
