Corrupted store: can I just start over?

A client is having problems that looks like either the private or public (if not both) message stores have become corrupt.  Of course, they have not been keeping up with the backups that I setup for them, so there essentially is no backup.  I'll be going onsite tomorrow to try to fix the corrupted stores, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for it.

If I can't fix the stores, is there a way I can tell Exchange to forget about all that, and let's just start from scratch?  Of course I could reinstall the server and start a new domain, and just rebuild Exchange from there, but I'd like to avoid that.  Ideally, (assuming the stores can't be repaired), I'd like to be able to just start from scratch as far as Exchange is concerned, but leave the domain as is.  Is there a way to do that?

Thanks in advance
