CTabView in the Feature Pack of Visual Studio 2008

I was wondering if anybody could help me with a question regarding a view (CTabView) created with the Visual Studio 2008 Feature Pack for MFC.

I have created an SDI application and it works fine. However, in the bottom left of the View there are four buttons which look like the forward/reverse buttons you'd see on a database viewer or on a media player. What are these four buttons? Pressing them does nothing. Is there anyway to get rid of them?
