Getting copies of sent messages into the inbox

Until an upgrade about a year ago I could get a copy of my sent emails in my inbox and when it was forwarded it showed sent and the date, just like when it appears in the sent box.  After the upgrade I couldn't get this functionality back.  Writing a rule dumped a copy of the sent email in the inbox but it actually says "this message has not been sent".  This defeats my purpose as it is pointless for me without the send information.  Our IT person has advised that it isn't possible to do this and then I find this code in a question asked a couple of years ago...

I followed the instructions but it's not working for me.  I am really excited, but am also relatively inexperienced with writing code so can't trouble-shoot on my own.

Would be the happiest girl in the world if someone could get this working for me !!

    End If
End Sub
