C++ Builder 2007 Issue

I recently installed C++ Builder 2007 Professional.  Though I applaud Borland for what could be a marvelous product, I have found it to have a severe performance issue.

I copied a CPP Builder 5 project to a new folder and opened it with Builder 2007.  The first time that I went to use the project, it worked wonderfully.

At some point I got to testing some of the new functionality, and clicked the 'Model View' tab.  The thing has been junk ever since.  If I click on a 'Recently Opened Project', the Builder hangs.  If I get to the project from the 'Open Project' tab, things start fine, and quickly erode into worthlessness.  This silly 'Parsing /path/to/object/name' status box appears, and slowly parses an item or two, eventually hanging on about the 4th or 5th object.

Has anyone else seen anything similar?

I was hoping to try George's suggestion before closing, but time just hasn't been a friend to me.

Hi George,

Just a quick followup.

I reinstalled RAD center and things seem much better now.  I'm not sure how the installation would be an issue, but apparently it was.

I created a 2 form application yesterday and saw the exact symptoms that I saw earlier in the summer.  After the re-install, everything seems to work fine.

Thanks,
Kent
Hi Kent..:-)
Ar re-install did you change the debugger setting??
BCB2007 as later install adds it's debugger...
I had a similar issue trying to install a third party comonent....
Fixed what was needed at first but never made it ti appear...
The fun is that and the author had, and still have, the same problem...

After that I stop trying to upgrade, just creating a new project and adding functionality....
By the way I just installed 2009 and in a few days I will start working with it...
I need those third party components and this time I will start from scratch...

George.

I just reinstalled the RAD with the "FIX" option.  It solved the problem of the nearly trivial (2 form) project locking up, but I haven't yet gone back and tried to upgrade a project.  That's a job for tomorrow.  :)
