How to install Service Pack 7 on Novell Netware 6.5

Hello All,

I have just started a new job as Systems Admin. One of the first tasks I have been given is to upgrade the service pack on our Netware 6.5 server. Currently we have sp 5 installed and would like to go to sp 7.

My background has been in Help Desk Support, so this is new to me and a bit intimidating. Can anyone please tell me (or direct me to instructions that will explain) the upgrade process step by step? I have visited the Novell site and printed out instructions from their knowledge base. Honestly, some of the wording goes over my head, though.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had actually printed this article out and have been reading it for a few days.

Let me ask you, we currently have sp5 installed. Rather than going to sp6, I was thinking about jumping to sp7. There isn't much info out there about sp7, as I think it is still rather new. Are you aware of any serious issues post upgrade?

I recommend going to SP6 1st and then after some time go to SP7. Newer things have bugs and take time to mature.
