How to make two wireless routers communicate

I have two WRT54GL routers. We will call them W1 and W2.
W1 I would like to connect to my LAN then using a YAGI broadcast to W2.
W2 I will use this as an AP I guess because I want to connect PC's to it and communicate to my LAN that
W1 is connected to. Is there any information on the net that gives step by step information how to configure each router to get these results? Or does someone want to painfully walk me through this setup?

thanks in advance!
