I am having trouble at a customer with printing. I have three computers that can not print to any network or local printers. When I try to print a windows test page I receive an error that states "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? Operation could not be completed". This only started happening after we did a SOPHOS upgrade. I removed Sophos and found that this did not resolve the problem. I uninstalled all printers and drivers and found that this did not resolve the problem. Made sure that there were no files stuck in the Spool folder. Started and restarted the printer spooler service with not problem. If I try to print from any other appliction to any printer that I have installed I receive a generic error that states that the resource is unavailable. Any assistance that can be provided would greatly appriciated!

HI,

What anti-virus and firewall are you using?

We were experiencing same knd of problem with F-Seucure some time ago, only re-installing F-Seucure and all printers did help.

Required removal of all printer drivers and files from spooler folder.

Sorry for the delayed response to this. We are using Sophos antivirus. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sophos but this did not resolve the problem. The only resolution that I have found is to uninstall the printer driver and then install the printer using a different driver. Meaning if I used a PCL 5 driver before now a PCL 6 will work. The PCL 5 no longer works.  Thanks again!
