How do I configure a D-Link DES-3526

Last Modified: 2011-10-19
I have recently taken over a network with D-Link X stack DES-3526. I am a novice when it comes to data switches. The switches are configured to separate different parts of the offices within the building (VLAN), I understand.
They are also used for VOIP.
The building gets broadband through a router which if fed to the switches.
Everything has been working fine until today, I now have the following challenges:
1) No internet access for some users, this is random i.e the same office has some internet access on some ports and not others.
2) I notice some ports with orange colors, where most of them are green.
I need an idiots demo/ document, that can bring me up to speed, where do I start, thank you.

I would suggest to look at ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/switches/des-3526
most of the docs are in english there.
as for orange leds - it means some ports are in 10mbps mode, but green - in 100 mbps mode
i don't think internet access is related to switch unless you are unable to ping neighboring PCs from faulty computers.

Thank you for the information, when I click on the link I get an error message, I have attached a screen shot of the error.
You are right about the problem with internet access, I finally found out that it was to do with zonealarm and a microsoft update, I have attached a link regarding this situation:

I am still very interested in learning about the switches, is the manual enough to do that? or do I need to get some books relating to switches.

I did not get the answer to whether I would need any books or further reading to understand the managed switches.
