Simple Cisco router setup questions
I have 2 Cisco 2500 routers that I want to setup to learn routing. There are 2 serial ports, and 1 aui port in back on each. How are these typically setup in a test lab? For example, do you simply connect a serial cable from router1 serial 0 to router 2 serial 0, setup an ip in the same range for both, and ping away?
If this is correct and I were to add a 3rd router, do you just daisychain router 1 serial 0 > router 2 serial 0 then router 2 serial 1 > router 3 serial 0?
How is the aui interface typically utilized?

I realized later that I didn't copy the whole link. I now have it and read through and saw that you can use the DCE/DTE cable to connect 2 routers via their serial ports. I will use the transceiver I have laying around for the Ethernet0 connection. Thanks everyone.

It was the AUI port I was referring to. What is that typically used for?
