How can i edit this logo for my site?

Hi i want to edit or make a new logo based on this example logo - it must be same height(85px) but can be any width. I want the text to say SHEFFIELD MEDSOC. what would be the best software to use/ what font to use/gradient etc? I want it to be the same but with the text changed. Many thanks for your help.

The easiest way to achieve this effect is with MS Word. It is a Word Art feature. If you need to have the graphic in .JPG format. Create it in Word and Copy and paste the completed WordArt graphic to Photo Elements or Paint. Then save it as a .JPG.

Very simple and effective.

ok thanks, didint think off wordart - however , how can i make it have a transparent background?

If you want a transparent background, you will need to use a program like PhotoElements that has the capabilities to save with a transparent background. You will need to save to a .GIF or .PNG format.

Before your paste the WordArt into your PhotoElements file, make sure the new file it is creating has a transparent background. When you paste your file, a white background will appear. Now use the Magic Wand tool to select the background. Hit delete and your background should be transparent. You may need to use the magic wand to delete background in the center of "O's" & "D's" etc. Once all the white is removed, save your file in the .GIF or .PNG format that you need.
