AT Initialization strings decoded from DIP switches

Last Modified: 2013-12-27
I am having a problem with setting the proper initialization string on a 4 port internal modem card (sold through Perle, but made by Multitech Systems).  I have an older server with a rocketport card and 4 USRobotics V.90 56k external modems hanging off of it. External Doctor's offices use handheld Glucometers, when cradled, automatically download their data thru a dail-up connection to the server. It works with the old external modems, but not with the new Perle internal modem card. I need help with one of two issues:

1.  The AT command that will display the configured initialization string on the USRobotics modems. ie: How the dip switches are set.

2.  What the AT command is for the setting of each dip switch. I know the description of each dip, but I not sure what the traslation to the proper AT command is. The settings are: (down = on)
1 Down
2 Up
3 Down
4 Up
5 Up
6 Down
7 Up
8 Down

1) I believe that AT&V allow you to view what the current settings are.

2) If you provide what the DIP switches description are, somebody here (maybe even me) can tell you what AT commands they translate to.

The dip switch settings are for the following: (down =on)
1 Down.......DTR Overide
2 Up............Verbal results code
3 Down.......Display results code
4 Up............Echo Offline Commands
5 Up............Auto Answer on First ring
6 Down......Carrier Detect Overide
7 Up...........Load NVRAM Defaults
8 Down......Smart mode

According to:

your settings mean

1: The modem will ignore DTR.
2: You will bet verbal (word) results when issuing AT commands
3: You will get results codes when issuing AT commands
4: You will see the commands you type in when issuing AT commands
5: The modem will answer on the 1st ring when somebody calls into it.
6: Carrier Detect (CD) is always on
7: When the modem is powered on or reset it will load profile Y0-Y4 from NVRAM intead of the factory defaults.
8: The modem recognize AT commands

Thanks qiltjr for your help. What I am really looking for is the AT command that each dip switch represents.
This is what I have decoded, but I'm not sure it is right:

DIP8=  Can't find the commmand
