I am just trying out autocad 2008 for the first time and am having some trouble getting used to the interface so i have a couple of what i think are really easy questions.  If one or both of them is not easy just tell me so and I will post it as a separate question.

1.) When I drag out a line it shows the total length of the line as I drag in inches (represented by a double quote) until i hit one foot at which point it converts the 12 inches into 1 foot (represented by a tick mark).  How do i get it to show only total inches (so show 13" instead of 1'1")

2.) How do i change the scale of this number (so if i move an inch up in the workspace that represents 100 inches in real life (and in the real-time measurement it is telling me as i drag out a line).
