DELL D630 LAPTOP OR M1330 LAPTOP
I'm trying to decide which laptop to get for my daughter for college.. an XPS M1330 OR D630 from Dell..
I think the XPS model will perform better, but it doesn't have a docking port!
The D630 allows for the D/PORT docking station.. My question with the D630 is: Will the video card drive a digital monitor at a higher resolution via the DVI port on the DPORT docking station. The laptop itself only has a vga output...

Actually, the XPS comes in under 4 lbs... This will be her primary computer, so I want it to perform well, especially since she is an engineering student.

Thanks for the answer, I agree. 1600 lines of resolution should be fine for any monitor < 32 inches..
go with a lighter one..
