Synchronization of Microsoft Active Directory with a Linux server at remote site using hardware vpn connection

Hello Experts, I would like to know if it is possible to setup a Linux server at a remote office to synch with a M$ Win 2003 SBS Active Directory domain.  Enabling remote PC's (XP pro) to join the domain and allow user authentication at the site.  Group policy would be nice but not essential as I would be able to run scripts w/ psexec or alike.

It seems as though Samba 4 will have greater support for AD, but does the current version have at least this minimal functionality?

thanks mwecomputers,

Following the Samba & AD howto I was able to create user authentication/home dirs on the Linux machine thru A.D.(very cool).  However I am still unsure how to go about duplicating the A.D. on the Linux machine to allow domain access from XP clients.  I've seen some discussion about this topic and anytime someone says yes it can be done (partially) they never say how.  I think i'm going to take the side of the nay-sayers and just say no not at this time.  Wait a couple months and hope that Samba 4 comes out in beta w/ these features.
