It has moved over to the left of the screen and stays there regardless of resolution changes. The only problem is I would like to have it centered.

in order to impliment the above suggested solution, you'll need to wrap all of your current divs within a div which is set to create the central pane, and then carfefully position your current divs within that div, using relative positioning not absolute, relative positioning will position the div in relation to the position it is rendered within it's parent, absolute positioning will position your div relative to the entire page.<br />

you'll have a hellish time achieving what you're after using absolute positioning.

Ok,after deciding to use tables and less AP Divs I have come up with this. It seems to be working somewhat but if you few the page with firefox the bottom of the page extends down for a long time. I have not been able to figure out what I need to adjust on this. if you want to apply height to the table however, you may need to specify a height for the body container - so that the table knows what to be 100% of.

Yes, and that's one of the biggest problems with absolute positioning. &nbsp;It is to some degree a crutch for the fact that CSS-only designs are difficult to position elements. &nbsp;Although many won't agree, the original intent of HTML page flow was that it should flow continuously, absolute goes against this. &nbsp;Which is why I find that a good design doesn't need to use it. &nbsp;And if you don't use it, you have all the original resources of HTML at your disposal, like the CENTER tag, which is extremely useful.

it's perfectly possible to create a flow of text / information on a page whilst still using CSS.<br />

by using just plain html, without producing a spaghetti of tables etc, it can easily destroy the flow of information.<br />

Using CSS, it is entirely possible to reduce the size of a page, use effective document hierarchy, which is useful for accessibility etc, when actually designing pages, it's possible to get an entirely accurate flow when using css correctly.<br />

you are however right to say that it is very easy to mess up design when poorly executing CSS, it can however be extremely powerful when applied correctly, indeed even more so than plain html.<br />

But then, I'm a little bit of a fanboy, I own a Mac too and everything.

I've managed to get everything centered but I'm still having the problem of the background repeating at the bottom of the page with Fire Fox only. I have checked on multiple computers using irefox and its the same result on everyone. The page continues after all the content and has a large amount of blank space that you can scroll down and view.
