Service status is "stopping"

I tried to stop and restart a service for our Backup Exec System Recovery remotely using RDP. When I stopped the service is said something along the lines of the service was unable to respond and now the service status is "stopping" is there a way to stop and restart the service without rebooting the machine?

Nevermind. Solved my own question. I killed the process which stopped the service.

Just wanted to clarify that I transposed a bit of my answer. The taskkill command should look like this:

taskkill.exe /f /im process.exe
