Outlook cannot find Exchange server

Hello All.

I am preparing a new workstation for a user and Outlook 2003 will not connect to the Exchange server. When setting up the connection, I enter the server name and the user name, and when I click the "Check Name" button, I get the following error:

Action could not be completed. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable.

I have tried disabling cached mode, can ping the Exchange server via IP address and domain name (DNS seems to be resolving ok) and even moved the workstation to a different physical connection just in case. None of my other 120 workstations are having a problem connecting to Exchange, including the user that this new workstation is intended for. Her existing workstation is not having a problem connecting to her mailbox.

It's probably something silly, but I'm stumped. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the response.

There are no Event ID 28 entries in the event viewer and all of the registry strings listed in the kb article are already present.

Since the op, I have reinstalled TCP/IP, verified global catalog settings on the exchange server (even though no other clients are having this problem) and removed/installed Outlook 2003. Nothing has worked.
