Last Login Time Inactive Accounts

SERVER 2003 w/ SP2:

I'm trying to clean up the AD to flush out the accounts that should have been disabled but weren't because HR didn't notify IT.

So, I decided to querry for users that have not logged in the last 2 weeks.

I did:

DSQUERY USER -INACTIVE 2

which should give me the results for the accounts not logged in for the last 2 weeks.

Instead, I get:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

H:\>dsquery user -inactive 2
dsquery failed:The parameter is incorrect.:Windows could not run this query beca
use you are connected to a domain that does not support this query.
type dsquery /? for help.
H:\>

So I tried it on the DC (like that matters) and no go... same thing.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the querry to work... Or ANY OTHER WAY of querrying the inactive accounts?

AD must be at the Windows Server 2003 functional level for this to work.

I knew of native mode and mixed for 2000... I really had thought they had done a clean migration over here... at least i was hoping.
they never did a full upgrade.
Which explains some of the issues I have.

Cool catch
Thanks for the help.

Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).
