spoolsv.exe (print spooler) occasionally spiking to 100%

I have a users computer here that has the spoolsv.exe occasionally spiking to 100%, maybe every 10 seconds or so, then goes back down. I've rebooted and restarted the print spooler service. No luck. I've also stopped the print spooler and checked in the windows/system32/spool/printers folder and found nothing, empty. Any ideas?

any jobs in queue?  any printers installed that shouldn't be?  i ran into something similar when we changed print servers and users still had references to a print server that is no longer there...

Also seen it when there's something trying to print to a printer/"document writer:"

Nope, no jobs in the print queue, and no new printers have been installed. Actually nothing has changed on the pc. Same print server too. Nothing is trying to print. This only happens when the user herself is logged on. When I log on this does not happen.
does it spike when she's not even trying to print?
what if you tried removing all printers, does it spike then?
if no, then what if you add the printers back... maybe you can narrow it to a specific printer?

Yes, it spikes even when she is not printing, or trying to print. I sat there logged in as her and watched it for about 5 minutes, just to make sure. She does have an HP 1300 attached locally to her pc, I am going to reinstall the drivers, see what that does, if anything.
