IIS will not serve file extension of .xhtml

I have a few files that need to have an extsion of .xhtml so that our customer's Polycom phones will display the info within the xhtml file on their phones. Our IIS servers will not serve a file that has an extension of .xhtml, I have tried three different ones. If I change the file name to .html, it serves it properly. What am I missing here? Other companies serve .xhtml files from their webservers to support polycoms. Is there somewhere in IIS or Windows Server that I need to configure xhtml? Thanks for any help!!!
