Offline defrag time
planning an offline defrag of exchange the database is 60 g the space taken up on the drive is 300 g
Microsoft say that the off line defrag will take one hour per 9 g so how do I plan on the 60g or the 300g?

Yups Kieran_b is absolutely right.. that's the simplest way instead of offline defrag... but make sure you have a backup of Exchange before you perform this task. Much less time consuming and u don't need much downtime for this.

If you have only single store, make sure to move the system attendant mailbox to the new store - before deleting the old store.

Actually the offline defrag runs 6-7 Gigs per hour based on your server configurations.
It should take atleast 10 hours for my example.
