an issue with the local dns service on a few xp workstations has manifested itself where the user can not open up our local intranet page without first restarting the dns service on the affected pc.
we are in a SBS 2003 domain and the DNS on the sbs has host record for the intranet listed ( A record)
the dns host is listed in the ipconfig of each pc and pinging the server is succesful. browsing to external sites is fine. after restarting the dns client all is fine then about 2-3 hours later it all goes belly up. once again restarting the dns client allows users to access the intranet page agin. (WSS 3 hosted on the SBS)
