SharePoint Portal (How to display the picture on the home page)

Hi All,
I am having problem to display a Image on the Home page from SHAREPOINT Portal. I have copied a GIF image to the Image folder and given the path on the Image Web part inspite of that when I log into it from the other system and see I am not able to view the image. But when I log in as http://localhost, I am able to view the Image. Can anyone help me as how to display this image on my home page. As I have a dead line to finish this project in a days time. Some help on this would highly be appreciated.
Thank You in Advance.

Hi,

I actually tried this by uploading the file in the document library on the home page and then giving that path on the link.

But when I used to enter the site by just typing the username and password it never used to display the image on the home page, then i tried typing this

Username:  Domain\Username
Password:  xxxxxxxxx

Then it started displaying the picture on the home page. But yet your solution worked by copying the image on the document folder.

Thank You Once again .

But I do have few more doubts on this. I will open one more question on folder restrictions(SharePoint Portal) hope you could give a solution on this as well. I will open it right away.

Hi,
I think it is not need to enter ur username and password every time. Add ur site to trusted sites and try to access(I assuming that ur system is in domain).
If u don't mind please specify the version of sharepoint ur using. Because it will give more clarity for the experts to answer ur question.
Thanks
