The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.? ERROR in SQL 2005

Hi,

I was changing some settings in my sql server 2005 Configuration manager. Settings like Enabling TCP/IP, so change of settings asked me to restart the sql server. BUT when i have stopped and then gaian trying to start it its giving me the folwing ERROR:

"The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details."

Is anybody tell me why i am getting this error, whereas my sql server is running under Local System account????

Its urgent. Please reply....

sorry for the silly question, but are you sure that the service was stopped in the first place?

first place means what? before changing the settings.

Before changing the settings my sql server was Started,
Then i have changed a setting (enabled TCP/IP) and ftaer that Stopped SQL Server and Then tried to Start it again but its not starting now and giving the follwong error

"The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details."

Hi @momi_sabag,

Your solution works. Actually 1433 is not displaying in the list when i have executed your given command, Then i have checked and disabled the "VIA" services under sql, i d't know hat is this??
But it works.....
