If you have connected by network cable to the back of the router and a light on the front of the router has confirmed your connection you should have a default gateway. The correct gateway as chris pointed out above should be 192.168.1.245<br />

If you are not recieving an IP address such as 192.168.x.x and a subnet mask etc then you have a connectivity problem. Go through the usual steps of a different network cable etc etc to successfuly connect before trying to access the interface.

How many LAN ports does the router have? Does a light on the front go on when you connect your cable between the router and computer?<br />

if you open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all<br />
it will show settings for ALL of your devices. Can you make sure you are looking at your NIC and not your wireless card when checking the settings. Does any device have config info?<br />

The wireless access point (not a router) is connected directly to a pc with a cat5 cable.<br />
The pc doesn't have any other ports, it only has ethernet... no wireless ethernet.<br />

The access point only has 1 LAN port.

You may be lucky that your device might have been supplied with a cross over cable, they should be labelled differently to a standard CAT5 Straight through / patch cable.<br />
I would suggest connecting to a switch first if possible, if not then try to connect via a wireless device to reconfigure or buy a cross over cable.

I've tried to restore the manufacturers settings by turning it off and holding in the reset button for 30 seconds.<br />

However this displays page cannot be found.<br />
