If you are using powergui.. try this..<br />

1. Unistall PowerGUI.<br />
2. Delete the local profile folder.<br />
3. Try reinstalling the application again.<br />

We have got a new windows server standard 2008 x64 box which is installed and working and we are trying to install exchange 2007 onto it. <br />
The install does the pre check and says all is ok to go but when we come to actually install the software it fails on the hub transport role saying &quot;error: root element is missing&quot;<br />
I can then drop out of the install and it seems to have installed the management tools as i can open up the console but hasn't installed the hub transport, client access or mailbox role. Thus meaning i have a very nice management console but can do nothing with it.<br />
All help would be greatly received.<br />

Root element is missing when trying to install exchange 2007 on server 2008
