None of the Microsoft Office application start.
I'm using Microsoft Office 2007 SP1 installed on WinXP SP2 and both of them are updated with latest patches. I uninstalled certain shareware programs such as WinRar, ImageEditor etc. and also McAfee Antispyware software. After that; when i opened the Office applications; none of them seem to be working.

Outlook - Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot initialize Microsoft Office shared utilities. ย Restart your computer or reinstall Microsoft Office Outlook.
Word - There is not enough memory or disk space to run Word.
Excel - Not enough memory to run Microsoft Office Excel. Please close other applications and try again.

None of them are opening in Safe mode as well.

Since i have disabled the System Restore wizard; I don't have the option of restoring to a previous working state.

I tried running the Microsoft Office Diagnostics and got an message "Exception Processing Message c00000a3 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c" with three responses Continue ; TryAgain ; Cancel during 'Disk Diagnosis' stage. On press of continue the diagnosis went thru but with no solution for my problem.

The solution as suggested by war1 and others are not helping me out of problem.

Please help me out.

Well, let's start with the obvious:

- How much hard disk space is available?
- How much memory is available?
- Can you repair the program from within Add/Remove programs?
- Do you have the CD to re-install Office altogether?

Hi,

- I have free hard disk space of 3 GB
- I have installed 1 GB RAM
- I get an error message while trying to repair the Microsoft Office product. The screenshot is attached.
- Unfortunately I do not have CD of Microsoft Office 2007 now. My office hold only limited license of Office 2007 and they DO NOT reinstall Office 2007 on our machines instead they will install only Office 2003. I certainly dislike using Office 2003 after using 2007 for a long period. :-( If I didn't get any solution; i will be forced to use Office2003.

Hi SenthilnathanSK,

Here are some options to try:

Option 1.
- Go into Add/Remove Programs
- single click on Microsoft Office
- click "Repair"

Option 2.
- Try downloading the Office 2007 installation trial from here:
http://office.microsoft.com/
- Run the installation, when it prompts you choose to "Repair" the current installation.

Hope this helps.

Hi gamm.
wat to say? huh? this is one of the wierdest problem i have ever encountered. I have finally managed to get access to the Office DVD. I removed the existing installation (C:) and installed on a different partition (D:). But still fate chases me. The same problem persists. What is this? :-( Should i have to get my system formatted? is that the only solution?

Only perform the following after taking a full backup of your registry and are aware of how to restore it, if you do not know how to backup/restore the registry you can find them by searching microsoft.com.

This will force Office to recreate all of it's settings:

1. Uninstall Office
2. Restart
3. Open the registry Editor
4. Backup the whole registry to a safe location
5. Backup and then Delete the following registry keys (and all their sub keys):
(note, "X" represents the version of Office you have installed)
ย  - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\X
ย  - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\X
6. Restart computer
7. Reinstall Office

Hi Gamm,

First of all sorry for the delayed reply. I was on a vacation and hence did not have any access to it. I tried the above solution and tried installing Office 2007; no benefits. Then again repeated the same with Office 2003. My problem was still persisting. Hence as i couldn't wait anymore i got my system formatted and reinstalled everything. :-(

Thanks for your support.

regards,
Senthil
