Monitoring alerts does not work

Have recently changed the server administrator password, and get the following error when trying to run Monitoring alerts and Services:

The Page cannot be displayed - Ensure that the MSSQL$SBSMONITORING service is started. etc.
I then went into the Event logs, and got:

Server Status Report:
      URL:            http://localhost/monitoring/perf.aspx?reportMode=0
      Error Message:      Cannot open database requested in login 'SBSMonitoring'. Login fails.
Login failed for user 'SB\administrator'.
      Stack Trace:         at usage.globalFn.connectDataSource(Boolean pingFirst)
   at usage.frmPerf.renderReportWorker()
   at usage.frmPerf.renderReport()

The thing is, I can't see any reference to any database in the SQL server manager.  There's only the Backup Exec database listed on there.

When I try to re-install monitoring and installation service using the re-installation wizard, it asks me all the questions, and then just gives me a red 'x' in each box.  Any idea on how I can fix this?

Excellent - followed it through step-by-step, worked a treat.  Except that, of course, I had to re-boot, and then re-apply the obligatory service pack :(

Thks.
