You can feed the Windows XP FTP utility a script file that can be used by a batch or scheduled process. Example: 
 
c:\putfile.ftp : 
 
open 198.1.2.345 
username 
password 
put filename.txt 
quit 
 
Then to run it, you'd create a batch file or scheduled task with the command line: 
 
ftp -s:c:\putfile.ftp

Thanks DavusMaximus, The only problem I have is the file name changes on a daily basis eg. todaysdate.doc. Is there a way I can get the batch file to search for a file created on a certain day in a certain folder?

Try this... 
 
it grabs todays date using the dos command &quot;date /t&quot; 
then parses the info to creates environment variables with todays date. 
It then build the file name to ftp. 
It then buils the ftp input file to use during the FTP process. 
Finally it executes the ftp command with the ftp input file.
